The Xometry Advance Card is a very exciting new cash flow solution available exclusively to our manufacturing partners. We’ve put a lot of thought into crafting a payment card that works with you and would like to take a moment to answer some of the most frequently asked questions about the Xometry Advance Card.

Is the Xometry Advance Card a credit card?

The Xometry Advance Card is not a credit card. It may look like one and it may walk like one, but it is not a credit card. With the Xometry Advance card, we advance up to 50%* of the value of eligible Xometry jobs you take immediately onto the card for you to use to cover any business-related expenses. This is not a line of credit, but rather your money that you would normally not receive until job completion and payout.

The Xometry Advance Card has no fees, interest rates, or credit checks. In other words, there are no risks or hassles associated with using the card. Signup is easy and transparent. Plus, with our invoice-less Shop Finances payout system, you can easily see every dollar placed onto your Xometry Advance Card from the work you take and every purchase you make with it from within your Xometry Workcenter.

What kind of purchases can I make with my Xometry Advance Card?

Your Xometry Advance Card can be used to cover any business-related expenses wherever Visa is accepted. That’s right, you can use it at hundreds of thousands of businesses nationwide — apart from a few select merchant categories such as casinos — to keep your shop running smoothly.

For example, you could buy that cutting tool you always wanted or keep your shop stocked with essential raw materials without the upfront costs. Maybe you want to upgrade your shop’s tech with the latest PCs to help you pump out G-code in record time. Perhaps pay your bills to keep those spindles turning or fill up your truck with gas.

Better yet, give your employees a morale boost. Since you can use your Xometry Advance Card to cover any business-related expenses, treat yourself and your employees to a BBQ.

What happens to the money on the card if I don’t spend it?

If you opt to take the 50%* upfront for a job on your Xometry Advance Card, that money will be moved to your card and it will stay there. If you don’t use all of the funds on your card they will simply be paid out to you according to your Shop Finances payout schedule. The value on your card is always a known quantity since the balance is always visible on the Shop Finances tab in your Workcenter.

To summarize, the Xometry Advance Card is not a credit card, you can use it to cover any business-related expenses wherever Visa is accepted, and you will not lose any unspent funds. Not too bad for something that is optional and free for every Xometry partner. Sign up to receive your own Xometry Advance Card or activate your new card on the Shop Finances tab in Workcenter.

If you have any questions about the Xometry Advance Card or just want to let us know how you're using it, head into the Xometry Community, and join the conversation. As always, you can learn more about using your Xometry Advance Card in our FAQs.
